At our St. Michael location we offer low children to teacher ratio and are licensed for 50 children. The trust and working relationship that develops between your child, their teacher, and you must be “earned.” Our child care staff averages two or more years of “hands on” experience working in child care centers. All staff members meet the state-required qualifications in early childhood education and are committed to your child’s development. All staff members are required to further their education by:
- Attending regular staff meetings and in-service training seminars
- Completing 15-25 hours per calendar year of continuous education
- Continually striving above and beyond what is expected of them on a daily basis
Director / Lead Preschool Teacher
Jenny grew up in the small town of Clear Lake, MN and now settled in Monticello, MN with her husband Mike and her two daughters. Jenny graduated with an Associate’s degree in early childhood adult care and education from St. Cloud Technical College. After being a lead teacher in a daycare for Toddlers and Preschool at ABC Child Care in St. Michael, MN for 8 1/2 years, she made a choice to leave teaching when her second child was born. It has been a blessing for three years of Jenny taking the time to stay home with both daughters and taking in every moment. Jenny wanted to make sure her daughters got the interaction and education they needed; she loved Volunteering in her daughter’s Kindergarten class and being involved with ECFE with her younger daughter. As the summer started an opportunity came, that would continue her education in early childhood and still be able to be with her younger daughter and cherish the memories as the director of a new center, Discover Little Miracles in St. Michael, MN. This new chapter will be as exciting for Jenny as she enjoys watching and teaching each child grow and achieve new goals, and building a new relationship with the families that will be attending Discover Little Miracles Child Care.
Lead Infant Teacher / Administrator
Tami grew up in Monticello in her mom’s home daycare with five siblings and always enjoyed babysitting for family, friends and neighbors and volunteering at the church nursery. She now lives in Elk River with her husband, two-year-old son, two dogs and a cat. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2005 from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She enjoys working with all age groups, but her most rewarding experience was as the lead teacher in the infant room and administrator at ABC Childcare for six years. She has over ten years of experience working with infants. She loves to be outside; observing nature, walking, biking, boating and riding ATVs. She also enjoys baking, reading/collecting children’s books and spending time with family and friends. Tami is very excited for the new adventures as lead infant teacher and administrator of Discover Little Miracles Child Care. She looks forward to watching and teaching each child in her care and building relationships with all the families that will be attending Discover Little Miracles!
Melissa and her husband, Justin, met in college while attending a small Christian liberal arts college: The University of Sioux Falls where Melissa earned her bachelor’s in elementary education. Melissa and Justin are blessed with two wonderful children. Jocelyn is a considerate five-year-old who loves and adores her little brother, Cohen, who was born March 2016. Melissa loves working with children because they have a natural desire to learn and problem-solve. Melissa states…”They are little scientists with amazing imaginations”. Melissa wants all families in the St. Michael area to know that your child will be cared for as our own. The staff at Discover Little Miracles will be continually trained in methods of all styles of teachings, learning, direction, and connection.
